NPR Trend Feature

Which quote most resonates with you?

Becky Melcer describing an interaction that she claims she had with God. "He kept telling me, 'Don't take it. Don't take it.' And I said, 'Really?' And I kept questioning it, and He kept coming back with, 'Yeah, don't take it.'" this quote resonates with me because it shows that some people are just simply not going to get the vaccine they're going to come up with their own reasons for it, and that sometimes people's motivations don't make sense to outsiders.

Do you feel the story does a good job explaining why workers don't want to get vaccinated? Explain the reasons for your answer.

Explaining why workers don't want to get the vaccine is a very tricky proposition. Often times, they simply don't want to get the vaccine because they don't want to get the vaccine. Instead, the NPR piece does a good job giving an array of different reasons why workers don't want to get the vaccine. Notice that there were no valid medical reasons as to why people are not taking the vaccine, instead there are just a lot of excuses. From a writer's standpoint you can't just come out and say that people who aren't taking the vaccine are being stubborn, so instead the NPR piece demonstrates that through and effective quotes and interviews.
